Children's Pool Calm
A beautifully calm spring morning at the Children's Pool, La Vallette.
This outdoor bathing pool is one of four in the area - the Ladies', Children's, Gent's and Horseshoe pools. The Children's pool was built circa 1890 and formed part of an initiative to compensate for the loss of beaches with the expansion of St Peter Port Harbour.
They are a huge focal point for local and visiting photographers (even the artist Claude Monet was reported to have swum here!) and it's clear to see why!
