La Pointe du Gentilhomme (Alderney Point)
La Pointe du Gentilhomme (Alderney Point) is the most northerly point in Herm. As the local name suggest, the views out to Alderney are superb, with the nearby sand bars and rocky islets of "The Humps" archipelago.
The Humps form part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey's Ramsar site and are an important habitat for various sea bird species and a seal colony.
This particular morning was blissfully warm and I'd been stood, since very early in the morning, knee deep in the approaching tide watching a meteor shower overhead!
