The Watch House on Lihou Island is a small stone structure believed to have been used for coastal observation and maritime safety. Likely dating back to the 18th or 19th century, it may have served as a lookout point for preventing smuggling, monitoring passing ships, or aiding local fishermen.
Positioned strategically with a clear view of the surrounding waters, the Watch House played a role in Guernsey’s long history of maritime activity.
Though now a ruin, it remains a fascinating feature of Lihou Island, offering visitors a glimpse into the island’s past and its connection to the sea.
